Austin, Texas

This article may be a little short because some of our time in Austin is a little fuzzy…

One of my favorite sorority sisters lives in Austin and we decided to meet for brunch on Sunday. She took us to this place called Swift’s Attic (brunch article coming soon) where their mimosas were $1. JUST ONE DOLLAR.

We may have had a bit too many because somehow we ended up in this speakeasy in a hostel and then there were some margaritas and next thing you know I’m switching hats with a kid named Allen who I thought was hilarious. If you haven’t seen the BBC animals talking video you have to watch it and then come back to this article because I kept saying Allen! Allen! Allen! just like the little beaver in that video. And I thought it was hilarious.

I think once you graduate college your body says “Hey! You’re not really supposed to drink like that anymore.” So your hangover lasts more than a couple hours, its like a couple days.

Wounded doesn’t even begin to explain the headache and it was such a bright sunny day, which normally would have been great.

Needless to say, the next day was a little hard, for both of us. But finally, around 2pm we were able to get out of the camper and go on a much needed walk around Lady Bird Lake.

We ended the day with a great vegan meal (our bodies needed some love) and bought cookie butter and pretzels at Trader Joe’s and watched Friends in the camper.

Don’t worry! We still had one more day!

In between drinks I did manage to write down all the top things to do in Austin. Trying to make up for lost time, we did it all in one day. We went to the graffiti park, Zilker park and played with dogs and saw the gorgeous Austin skyline, we walked around the lake (again) we ate at Torchy’s, went to South Congress, and still managed to be home in time to make dinner in the Camper and be in bed by 9.

I really want to go back to Austin soon and stay for a little bit longer and actually do a little bit more, but I will say, we had an absolute blast.

Allen if you read this, it was really great to meet you and you're welcome for making you and your friends laugh all night long and I’m sorry I don’t remember what you looked like.
