Marlow's Tavern // Winter Park, FL

It doesn't take much to have us Gibson Girls excited about brunch. After all, we love any excuse to have a glass of champagne before noon. These past few weeks we have been exploring Orlando's top brunch spots and first on our list is Marlow's Tavern in Winter Park.

Speaking of our favorite subject-- drinks before noon-- Marlow's Tavern offers a Bloody Mary Bar where you can add whatever you want to your Bloody Mary from blue cheese stuffed olives to a Slim Jim. Some of the girls went wild adding peppers, bacon, pickles, and celery. And for those of you who are not Bloody drinkers, like myself, they will let you take as many pictures as you like and give you a Mimosa.

For starters we had to try the Asparagus Fries. Fried in a Parmesan cheese batter to perfection and served with a citrus aioli, these little guys were a perfect way to start.

First up on the list was the Traditional Chilaquiles. Three delicious fried eggs on top of a corn tortilla with cheese, tomatoes, avocado, smothered in sour cream and cilantro and smoked chili cream. Did I forget to mention the tasty ranchero sauce that gives this dish the perfect kick?

Next up was the Brooklyn Egghead Sandwich. How can you go wrong with eggs, bacon, cheese, and ham on buttered, toasted croissant? You can't; these eggs were fried just right so that the yolk covers the sandwich making every bite melt in your mouth. Our only complaint was the potato cakes that accompanied the dish; a little greasy but didn't take away from the sandwich at all!

The classic Steak and Eggs impressed us all as well. I am not one to mix steak with an over easy egg but Marlow knows what he is doing.

Now sometimes deciding is hard, there are so many great things to chose from so why not get a few? The Champagne of Breakfast is a PuPu Platter of fried chicken biscuits, huevos rancheros, hash browns, bacon, sausage and a ice cold Miller High Life - the champagne of beers - all served on a silver platter just for you.

We always have to get different dishes so we can share, but I don't think anyone could get their fork to my plate fast enough before I devoured my entire order of Chicken n' Waffles. That's right, candied pecan crusted fried chicken with a fluffy, buttery waffle drizzled with maple syrup. I have never been so proud of my food baby in my life.

Now we are a party of 8 at this brunch spot so naturally we all have different opinions, and although they agreed the Chicken n' Waffles was a very close second, the Lemon Ricotta pancakes took the gold. I know people hate the word but these little golden pancakes were moist and just enough lemon to make your taste buds go wild. Topped with blueberries, bacon and maple syrup this was definitely the winner.

The service was wonderful, the food did not disappoint, and the patio area was just right for our large group to settle in and stuff our faces.

All in all, our Boozy Brunch outing to Marlowe's Tavern was a stunning success.
